MERAKI MIX SERIES: Farloh
Taking over the reigns this week is Farloh, a DJ and producer with a focus on the deeper/progressive shades of electronic music. His mix for us is true to his sound - it's stripped back and grooves. Farloh released his debut track via Bandcamp in November, called 'Magenta Pulse.' He also has a forthcoming 3 track EP coming out on Black Mambo records. Personal favourite on the EP is Veldir. MERAKI: What do you think makes a good DJ?
Farloh: A good DJ to me is someone who sees how his records work and is able to tell a story with them.
MERAKI: What record label excites you the most at the moment?
Farloh: It’s a tough question, as there’s loads of labels out there killing it - but choosing one I’d say Calypso Records run by Iñigo Vontier and Thomas Jackson. They put out quality releases from exciting upcoming talent, they also run an excellent free download feature called ‘Takeaway tracks’ worth checking out. I also have a track coming out on the label, which I’m super excited about..
MERAKI: What’s the most important thing about DJing to you?
Farloh: Being able to share the records you love for people to enjoy and dance to.
